It was a pitch that a lefthanded hitter usually likes. Most righthanded hitters like the ball up higher. It was a good piece of hitting by Nady.

it is more worrisome that after he gave up the homerun he allowed two men on and struggled to get out of the inning. That is a sign that the stress got to him. But there are some bright sides to this...

I agree with you that he could have shaken him off. But, I think it's safe to say Ausmus should be helping him out a little bit (isn't that WHY Ausmus in on the team? i dunno, maybe we're absorbing...

I agree. The homer sucked because it was the worst possible thing that could've happened, but at least he threw a decent pitch. What worries me is the way Lidge responded immediately after giving it up.

I agree Wheeler should be the closer, but that should have been the case right out of Spring Training. Now Garner is almost forced to give Lidge a few weeks.

how about the offense kicks it up and start having leads of more than 1 run? or even more than 3 so it's not a "save situation" and then garner doesnt have to follow the bring in my closer who can't...

Hmm..yes you are right. There was a 3 pitch strikeout but I don't recall the pitches being overpowering in any sense (not like the old Lidge). Even Wandy can have a three pitch strikeout.

Garner said the pitch to Nady wasn't too bad, but that it wasn't the right pitch for Nady. Apparently the Astros' plan for Nady is to pitch him high in the strike zone...so I guess he likes the low...
